Midway dominates Goldsboro again, Raiders remain unbeaten

Five runs in the sixth inning closed out a 13-3 East Central 2-A Conference baseball win for Midway over visiting Goldsboro on Friday night.

The Raiders had taken a 9-0 road win over the Cougars on Tuesday night.

Sawyer Sutton went 2-for-3 with four RBIs on Friday as the Raiders improved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in league play.

Jonathan Cooper and Grant Barefoot each had two hits and a pair of RBIs. Cooper had a double and a triple. Caden Wilson went 2-for-4 with a home run. Nate Smith was 2-for-3 and scored three runs. Hunter Gainey had a hit and scored three runs.

Christian Hairr pitched five innings for Midway. He allowed three runs (all earned) with three walks and three strikeouts. Sutton pitched a hitless frame with one walk and three whiffs.
