Midway’s varsity girls basketball team rolled out to a 51-14 halftime lead and went on to defeat visiting Spring Creek 82-29 on Monday night.
Leah Williams scored 20 points and J.J. Sankey added 19 as the Lady Raiders improved to 19-1 overall and 9-1 in the East Central 2-A Conference going into a league game Wednesday night at Wallace-Rose Hill.
Logan Baggett had 11 points for Midway. Alyssa Wrench and Madee Royal scored nine points each. Jenna Pope finished with eight points.
Midway made 63 percent of its 2-point field goal attempts and connected on 60 percent from beyond the arc.
“We looked like the team I know we can be,” said Lady Raiders coach Allen McLamb. “Taking nothing away from Spring Creek, but we got open looks and we were hitting.”
