Midway took a varsity basketball sweep over visiting Clinton on Friday night as the Lady Raiders prevailed, 51-45, before the Midway boys topped the Dark Horses, 56-44.
The Raider boys improved to 12-7 overall and 3-5 in the Southeastern 2-A Conference going into a home game with Red Springs (9-13, 4-4) on Tuesday night. The Red Devils topped the Raiders, 84-54, in Red Springs on January 26.
Midway swept the regular season series with Clinton, following up on a 56-45 road victory on January 23.
Midway’s girls (10-9, 3-5) got 14 points and 12 rebounds from sophomore Peyton Herring on Friday night. Freshman Kyleigh Stonerock scored 13 with nine rebounds. Senior Morgan Williams added 10 points.
McKenzie Williams tallied seven. Kara Beth Benton had four points and Ella Clark scored three.
