Cape Fear Christian Academy’s varsity boys basketball team had a 21-19 lead over Mount Zion after the first quarter in the first round of the Crusader Christmas Classic on Monday at Grace Christian School in Sanford.
The Warriors upped the tempo in the second quarter and began to control the boards with their size on the way to an 87-42 win.
The Eagles were led by 14 points from Deshawn Woods. David Okropiridze had 11 points before he was sidelined by a knee strain in the third quarter.
Jakson Cullen finished with eight points for CFCA. Reid Miller netted four points, Brandon Surles scored three and Trevor McLamb added two.
The Eagles (4-5) take on University Prep in the tournament at GCS today at noon.
