Cape Fear Christian Academy’s middle school baseball team was recognized as regular-season champions of the Mid-Carolina Conference at a recent Carolina Mudcats game at Five County Stadium in Zebulon.
“It was nice,” said Eagles coach Alex Godwin.
The CFCA team was introduced before the game and went on the field for the national anthem with the Mudcats.
Three of the Eagles raced on the field in a between-innings promotion.
The Mudcats topped the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, 6-3, in the high Class A Carolina League contest on July 6.
The Mudcats are affiliated with Milwaukee while Fayetteville is a farm club for Houston.
