MS volleyball recognizes eighth-graders, remains unbeaten vs. St. John Paul II

Cape Fear Christian Academy won a pair of middle school volleyball matches over St. John Paul II of Southern Pines on Friday, honoring its eighth-grade players between games.

The visitors requested a B team match so CFCA assembled a team to comply. CFCA took a 2-0 win in the opening action.

Eighth-grade players including Kelani Brock, Hayden Deese, Finley Phillips, Sailor Phillips, Bristol Stephens and Olivia Thompson were recognized before the A team took a 2-0 victory. Set scores were 25-8 and 25-7.

The middle school Eagles (11-0) host Lee Christian in the semifinals of the Mid-Carolina Conference tournament on Monday at 4 p.m.
