N.C. (Dunn) Majors take World Series win in Lumberton with slams, no-hitter

Ross Stevens and Anthony Jones both hit grand slams in a 19-0 win over Texas for the North Carolina All-Stars from Dunn on Saturday, the opening day of play in the Dixie Youth Majors (12-and-under) baseball World Series in Lumberton.

Stevens, Jones and Jalen Evans combined to throw a no-hitter.

The Dunn-based team plays Georgia at 5:45 p.m. today (Sunday, August 5). Georgia defeated host Lumberton 16-4 on Saturday.

Jones, Evans, Braxton Davis and Jamari Thompson had two hits each for N.C. Wyatt Lucas, Hunter Tyndall, Stevens, Tripp Westbrook and Jarrett Cooper each had one hit.
