Midway took a pair of wins in the Fayetteville summer baseball league last week.

The Raiders defeated Village Christian 10-2 at Midway on Thursday as Sawyer Sutton, Chandler Williford and Carson Calcutt turned in mound stints.

“They probably each threw 35 to 40 pitches and did well,” said Raiders coach Jason Fussell.

Midway took a 9-1 win at Gray’s Creek on Tuesday as Hunter Gainey, Jonathan Cooper, Colin Avery and Cameron Calcutt pitched.

After the dead period this week, the Raiders (5-3) will have games at Cape Fear of Cumberland County and at home against Hoke County to close the summer season.
