Midway won its East Central 2-A Conference baseball opener at Spring Creek on Wednesday, 8-0.

Chandler Williford pitched six innings of a one-hitter as the Raiders moved to 3-0 overall.

Williford had 13 strikeouts while walking one and allowing one hit. Eli Culbreth pitched the final frame.

Williford helped his own cause with a triple and an RBI. Carson Calcutt had a double for Midway. Colby Pope was 2-for-4. Jaron Register had a double and two RBIs. Cameron Barefoot had an RBI.

The Raiders host nonconference rival Hobbton on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Midway hosts Wallace-Rose Hill in league play on Friday.
