A lot has changed from Midway’s 80-73 season-opening varsity football win at Hobbton in 2021.

Both quarterbacks, Wyatt Holland of the Raiders and Loden Bradshaw of the Wildcats, have graduated.

Midway has a new coach, Kyle Stevens.

One thing will remain constant, the intensity of the rivalry.

“Looking forward to playing our biggest rival,” said Hobbton coach Joe Salas. “We match uo well. It was an epic shootout last year but both defenses are strong this year.

“Any time Hobbton plays the blue team, it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Cole Weeks will be at quarterback for Hobbton. Casey Culbreth has moved from receiver to quarterback for the Raiders.

Kickoff is scheduled for tonight at 7 p.m. at Midway.

“They’re a well-coached team,” Stevens said. “They’ve got the Beat Blue thing going on. We’re excited to be at home.”
