Midway’s varsity baseball team rallied from a 4-0 deficit after an inning of play for a 13-6 East Central 2-A Conference win at East Duplin on Friday night.
The Raiders improved to 8-0 overall and 4-0 in league play going into a conference contest at James Kenan on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Midway answered the opening surge by the Panthers with five runs in the second to take the lead for keeps. The Raiders had another 5-run inning in the fourth.
Midway had 10 hits, including two each by Cal Tyndall and Cameron Calcutt. Collecting doubles for the Raiders were Carson Calcutt, Drew Matthews, Cameron Calcutt and Eli Culbreth.
Cameron Calcutt and Culbreth drew two walks apiece. Brayden Coats had three of Midway’s nine stolen bases.
Campbell signee Chandler Williford pitched six innings with eight strikeouts for the win. Sawyer Sutton and Culbreth also saw mound duty.
