Midway took a pair of nonconference varsity basketball wins over visiting Lakewood on Friday night.
The Lady Raiders jumped out to a 17-3 lead in the first quarter on the way to a 56-32 victory. The Midway boys followed a similar pattern with a 14-3 advantage after eight minutes before going on to triumph, 62-43.
Mallory Baggett had 20 points as the Midway girls improved to 2-1. Lizzy Kirkland had 14 for the Lady Raiders and Jaycie Byrd added 11.
The Midway boys also moved to 2-1 with Casey Culbreth and Tripp Westbrook scoring 13 points each. Jack Hazelbeck and Israel Cook had eight points each. Trey Gregory netted seven.
The Raider teams visit Union on Tuesday night.
