Cleveland took a pair of Greater Neuse 3-A Conference varsity basketball wins over visiting South Johnston on Monday night.

The Rams pulled away from a tie at 28 at the half for a 62-49 victory in the boys game.

South’s girls rallied from a 30-12 deficit at the half to take a 53-52 lead before falling, 54-53.

The Trojans boys slipped to 10-11 overall and 2-6 in league play going into a game at East Wake on Tuesday night.

The South girls are 2-18 on the season and 0-8 in the Greater Neuse.
