South Johnston has moved its home varsity football game against Greater Neuse 3-A Conference and Johnston County rival Cleveland to Thursday night at 7 p.m. in anticipation of inclement weather Friday.
The Trojans (7-2, 3-1 GNC) bring a three-game win streak into the contest, coming off of a 28-14 victory at East Wake last Thursday. The Rams (7-1, 4-0) have won six straight and are coming off of a 63-13 rout over visiting West Johnston on Thursday.
The matchup will have conference title implications as the Rams currently sit in the first place spot, unbeaten in conference play, and the Trojans are in second, with a half-game lead over Clayton (7-2, 2-1).
A win by South would create a tie atop the conference, while a Cleveland win would guarantee the Rams the conference title.
