Bailey Dorman of Cape Fear Christian Academy was named Player of the Year in volleyball in the Mid-Carolina Conference following tournament championships in soccer and volleyball at CFCA on Friday. Cresset Christian of Durham rallied for a 3-2 win over regular season champion Lee Christian in the volleyball final after dropping the first two sets. Larah Tripp and Dorman were named all-conference from CFCA. Dorman was all-tournament. Crossroads Christian of Henderson downed Bradford Academy of Mebane, 5-1, for the soccer title. Making all-conference in soccer from CFCA were Caden Scarborough, Zeke Brock and Jakson Cullen. Named all-toirnament were Scarborough and Wyatt Medlin. Lee topped CFCA, 2-1, in the junior varsity volleyball final. … CFCA will learn its placement in the NCISAA playoff brackets in girls tennis, soccer and volleyball on Sunday. … Cole Weeks threw for two touchdowns and ran for one as Hobbton topped visiting Lakewood, 46-38, on Friday night.
