Sewell NCBCA all-state; Bates, Brown all-region

Chase Sewell has earned a berth on the 3-A all-state team selected by the North Carolina Baseball Coaches Association after hitting .458 as a junior at Triton.

Sewell had eight doubles, two triples and one home run with 13 RBIs as the Hawks went 15-11 and reached the third round of the NCHSAA playoffs.

Sewell’s classmates Brayden Bates and Kason Brown were named to the NCBCA all-region team.

Bates hit .323 with two homers. He had a 2.55 earned run average with 42 strikeouts in 22 innings.

Brown had a 1.44 ERA with 45 whiffs in 43 and two-thirds frames. He hit .263 with five doubles and 16 RBIs.
