Softball Hawks topped as Orange rallies to advance

Triton’s softball team led 7-2 going into the seventh inning against visiting Orange on Tuesday night in the first round of the NCHSAA 3-A playoffs, but the Panthers came back for a 15-8 win in eight innings.

Kelsey Matthews, Addie Stanley and Bailey Johnson had two hits each for the Hawks (15-7).

Collecting RBIs for the Hawks were Sydney Bradham, Stanley, Cami Pope, Berkley Campbell and MacKenzie Lucas.

Allie Carden and Katie Carden had home runs for Orange (11-9).
