Triton won three softball scrimmages at East Carolina Athletic Park in Goldsboro on Saturday, 3-0 over Beddingfield, 3-0 over Hunt and 15-0 against Nash Central as Gracyn Slaughter allowed no hits in the third matchup.
Leanna Whaley, a transfer who has signed with Appalachian State, struck out 12 Beddingfield batters while allowing one hit and one walk.
Caroline Marshall was in the circle against Hunt. She fanned 10 with three hits and three walks.
Slaughter struck out 16 in the finale with no walks.
Hawks coach Mark Whitman noted that Kaila Cooney, Slaughter, Alexis Howard, Haley Hicks, Hayden Smith, Kathryn Elliott and Allure Smith had multiple hits on the day.
Triton opens the season at Rosewood on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
