A pair of first-round girls games at West Johnston tonight will open the Greater Neuse 3-A Conference basketball tournament.
South Johnston, the No. 4 seed, plays fifth-seeded Cleveland at 6 p.m. and the third-seeded host Lady Wildcats meet sixth-seeded Smithfield Selma at 7:30 p.m.
In boys first-round games Tuesday at Clayton, fourth-seeded Smithfield-Selma matches up against fifth-seeded Cleveland at 6 p.m. The third-seeded Comets take on sixth-seeded West Johnston at 7:30 p.m.
In the girls semifinals on Wednesday at top-seeded East Wake, the West Johnston-SSS winner plays second-seeded Clayton at 6 p.m. The South-Cleveland winner meets the Lady Warriors at 7:30 p.m.
The South Johnston boys, 21-3 overall, will meet the Clayton-West Johnston winner at top-seeded East Wake on Thursday at 6 p.m. The host Warriors play the Smithfield-Selma-Cleveland winner on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
The highest-seeded girls team remaining will host the championship games on Friday at 6 p.m. (girls) and 7:30 p.m. (boys).
