South Johnston boys move to 18-2 with win over Clayton

South Johnston’s varsity boys basketball team pulled away from visiting Clayton for a 79-57 Greater Neuse 3-A Conference win on Thursday night.

The Trojans improved to 18-2 overall and 5-1 in league play after topping the Comets, 55-43, on the road in the conference opener on Jan. 11.

South outscored Clayton 40-26 in the second half of the second meeting.

Clayton won the girls game, 76-36.

South hosts West Johnston on Tuesday night.
