South Johnston wrapped up the 2021 varsity baseball season with a 10-6 Greater Neuse 3-A Conference win at Cleveland on Saturday.
Five runs in the top of the third inning pushed the Trojans’ lead to 7-0. Chase Carroll led off the decisive frame with a double. A walk preceded an RBI double by Kannon Crumpler. Dewayne Schneider had a 2-run single.
Dylan Bates bunted a run home and C.J. McQuitty had a sacrifice fly.
Carroll started on the mound and Krumpler relieved in the fifth.
South finished 7-7 overall and 6-4 in league play.
