Southside Christian of Clayton took a 7-1 varsity girls soccer win at Cape Fear Christian Academy on Tuesday afternoon in the season-opening game for both teams.
The Eagles avoided a shutout late in the nonconference contest on a goal by Madison Starling.
The Warriors led 3-0 at the half.
CFCA is scheduled to host Cresset Christian of Durham on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
