
Spring sports teams across the area and state took advantage of nice weather as official practice started on Wednesday.

The Hawks are scheduled to start the 2018 baseball season at home against Village Christian of Fayetteville on March 1 at 7 p.m. Left-handed pitchers Aaron Hedgepeth and Adam Capps are among key graduation losses for Triton.

Hawks girls soccer coach Brian Foster had 39 players out with others not on hand for driver’s education or because they didn’t have their required physical examinations completed. Triton is scheduled to open the season at home against South Johnston on Monday, March 5, at 6:30 p.m.



The Hawks’ softball team is scheduled to play three games in three days to start the season. Triton will open at Rosewood on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 6 p.m,. The Hawks return home to host Purnell Swett the following night at 7 and will host neighboring rival South Johnston on Friday, March 2, at 7 p.m.

Practice for boys tennis as well as track and field is scheduled to start Monday.
The boys golf team started practice on the range at Keith Hills on Wednesday and will practice at Chicora on Thursday (Feb. 15). Triton will host a Tri-County Six 3-A Conference match at Chicora on March 26. Sophomore Cam Brown is expected to be a leader for the Hawks.
