The South Johnston 12-and-under baseball All-Stars were eliminated from the Tar Heel Leagues state tournament in Smithfield on Saturday with an 11-1 loss to Sandhills. South Johnston had topped Sandhills, 16-12, on Friday. The South Johnston 10-and-under baseball All-Stars are the only unbeaten team in the Tar Heel Leagues state tournament and can wrap up the title with a win over Williamston at Smithfield Community Park Field 3 today at 10 a.m. South Johnston won the winners bracket final, 4-3, over Cleveland and Williamston subsequently topped Cleveland, 12-9, in an elimination game.
