Triton’s varsity girls soccer team edged visiting Lee 6-5 in a Tri-County Six 3-A Conference match on Tuesday night as Ana-Beth Brewer got the deciding goal on a penalty kick in the second overtime.

The Hawks overcame three deficits of one goal each after halftime to improve to 5-6 overall and 2-5 in the league.

Brewer was knocked down to draw a penalty kick opportunity for Triton.

“Normal coaching wisdom says the player who got fouled doesn’t take the PK but I wasn’t about to tell her no and she slotted it home to the right of the goalkeeper to win the game for us,” said Hawks coach Brian Foster.

Brewer finished with three goals and an assist.

Madison Tripp, Darby Shea and Kiana McNeil also had goals for Triton.

Laura Castro had two assists.
