The first playing date for football is February 26 and there is a limit of seven regular-season games. The earliest start date is for volleyball and cross country, which may begin practice on November 4. … The Big South Conference, which includes Campbell, announced plans to move fall sports in 2020 to spring of 2021. … Football practice at East Carolina was halted in the 16th period on Wednesday afternoon due to weather issues. … Boston edged the Carolina Hurricanes, 4-3, on Patrice Bergeron’s goal in the second overtime on Wednesday in Toronto. Canes coach Rod Brind’Amour was fined $25,000 by the NHL for criticizing officiating.
