Thursday report: Girls soccer wins, baseball falls at K-V, golf takes on HC

Cape Fear Christian Academy’s varsity girls soccer team took a 6-0 win over host Christ the Cornerstone at James L Morgan Recreation Complex in Laurinburg.

Scoring goals for the Eagles were Courtney Butts, Mary Andemichael, Knorah Whitmore, Piper Morrill and Karleee Edwards.

The Defenders also had an own goal.

Grace Bruha was in goal for the shutout.

Varsity Baseball

Visiting CFCA was dealt a 12-2 nonconference loss at Kerr-Vance in four innings.

Parker McLamb and Fisher Stancil each had a hit and an RBI for the Eagles (6-4).

Eli Burns and Taylor Smith scored runs for the Eagles. Cooper Davis had a hit.

Varsity Boys Golf

The CFCA varsity golf team shot a 173 over the White nine at Keith Hills as Harnett Central shot 151.

Scoring for the Eagles were Ben Thompson (39), Cade Godwin (41), Conner Shirley (46) and Hunter Roberts (47).

CFCA hosts Crossroads on Thursday at Keith Hills.
