Larah Tripp of Cape Fear Christian Academy had a heave of 25 feet, three inches for third place in the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association Division 3 (1-A and 2-A) track and field meet at Gaston Day School in Gastonia on Friday.
Zeke Brock represented the Eagles in the 100 meter (11.62 seconds) and long jump (19 feet, 10 inches), finishing sixth in each event.
Madeline Brocious and Perri Caroline Ennis of CFCA each qualified in the girls shot put.
Ennis was third in the state shot put last year but did not compete in 2024 due to a schedule conflict with a family wedding. Brocious did not participate due to a commitment at school.

Zeke Brock was sixth in the long jump and 100 meter in Gastonia.
