For the second time this season, Triton came back for a Tri-County Six 3-A Conference varsity volleyball victory over Lee County.
The Hawks topped the Yellow Jackets 3-2 at Triton on Tuesday.
Set scores were 22-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-19 and 15-10.
Triton overcame a 1-2 deficit to win 3-2 at Lee on Nov. 19.
The Hawks also won the junior varsity match on Tuesday, 2-0.
“We still are not playing consistently but I can say that last night, even though we weren’t playing well at times, we didn’t give up no matter how many points we were down,” said Hawks coach Wendy Simmons of the varsity triumph on Tuesday. “In one set we were as much as nine points down and fought back and took the lead.
“Lee County is a scrappy team and we were fortunate to win. It was nice to see them relax and have fun during the fourth and fifth sets. I hope they will continue to play hard and have fun for the rest of the season.”
The Hawks (3-3) visit Southern Lee (0-6) on Thursday.
