Offensive linemen Jayden Giles and Karon Kirk of Triton have signed to play college football at North Carolina Wesleyan.

The duo helped the Hawks to 2,691 yards of total offense in 2021 as Triton went 4-3 in the All American Conference and won the Harnett County championship.

“We are very happy for these two young men and excited that they are able to continue their journey to the next level together,” said Hawks coach Ben Penny. “Our linemen are a tight-knit group and to be able to continue this brotherhood in college together is tremendous.

“They are well deserving and have worked hard on the field, in the classroom, and in the weight room to get this opportunity.”

Penny noted that quarterback J.P. Petoletti, who graduated Triton after the 2020 season, also plans to join the Battling Bishops program.

After an 0-3 start in the fall of 2021, Wesleyan, which is located in Rocky Mount, put together a 3-game winning streak and eventually finished 4-4 in the USA South Conference.

The Bishops are coached by Jeff Filkovski. The offensive coordinator and offensive line coach is Matt Keith.
