Midway won a competitive three-team golf match at Chicora on Monday afternoon.
Led by a one-under par 35 from medalist Logan Patrick on the front side, the Raiders had a 164 team total.
Host Triton was second at 167 with a 36 from sophomore Cam Brown leading the way. Brown rolled in a 15-footer for par on the last hole for the No. 1 group, the par-four second hole.
Harnett Central got a 38 from senior Cole Long and finished at 170.
“I was hitting fairways and greens,” Patrick said. “That was the key. My putting was pretty good.”
Patrick, a sophomore is the current club champion at Chicora.
Trey Pope contributed a 40 to the Midway total. Andrew Eldridge finished with a 43. Matthew Faircloth and Jordan Sullivan each shot 46 for the Raiders.
Scott Johnson had a 40 for the Hawks. Lee Bass carded 44 and Ashton Wood was at 47.
Central’s scorers included Seth Bell (41), Seth Hagen (42) and Logan Stewart (49).
Triton coach John Hardee noted that the Tri-County Six 3-A Conference has a match Monday (March 12) at Keith Hills.
The Midway golf team plays at Southern Wayne Country Club on Tuesday, March 13, at 2 p.m. in an East Central 2-A Conference match hosted by Spring Creek.
