Triton Male Athlete of the Year Ro’mello Pegues

Ro’mello Pegues has been named Male Athlete of the Year at Triton and Mary Charlotte Pope is Female Athlete of the Year for the Hawks.
Pegues averaged 20.2 points in basketball for a 19-10 team that reached the second round of the NCHSAA 3-A playoffs. He has been selected to play in the East-West All Star game in Greensboro in July and has signed with North Carolina Wesleyan in Rocky Mount.
He qualified for the NCHSAA 3-A track and field meet in Greensboro in the high jump.
Pope was a standout in volleyball and girls soccer.
