Two from Western Harnett sign for next level

Two athletes from Western Harnett signed to play on the collegiate level Wednesday at the high school.

Lance McLean, the Defensive Player of the Year in the Tri-County Six 3-A Conference in football, signed with UNC Pembroke.

McLean had 59 solo tackles and 87 assists in 2018. He had four sacks and 22 tackles for loss. McLean was credited with causing two fumbles.

Alissa Staton of the Eagles signed to play volleyball at Fayetteville Technical Community College.
