United Faith downs CFCA

Fifth-seeded United Faith of Charlotte defeated visiting Cape Fear Christian Academy 79-53 on Thursday night in the second round of the 16-team North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association 1-A varsity boys basketball playoffs.

Milos Galogaza had 18 points on eight of 18 field goal shooting and controlled nine rebounds for CFCA (11-20).

Daniel Lobach had 17 points and six rebounds for the Eagles. Riley Adams finished with seven points and eight rebounds. Dillon Butler had five points. Isaiah Tatum had four points, four rebounds and six assists.

Marcus Owens had two points and four rebounds.

“We were the best team for 25 minutes,” said CFCA coach Dwight Miller. “Love my kids.”

United Faith (20-10) plays at fourth-seeded Northwood Temple (14-18) in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
