UP girls, HC boys win track at Triton

The Union Pines girls and the Harnett Central boys won a Tri-County Six 3-A Conference track meet at Triton on Thursday.

The Union Pines girls had 90 points in the team standings, Central finished with 64 and the host Hawks had 16 points.

In the boys meet, Central (59.5) was followed closely by Union Pines (54.5) and Triton (53).

Winners for the Central girls included Maliah Banks in the 100-meter (12.8 seconds), the 4×200 relay (1:51.9), Lauren Greenspan in the 1,600 (5:44.2), the 4×100 relay (52.9), Banks in the 200 (26.4), Faith Troyano in the discus (62 feet, 2 inches) and shot put (28-6) and Banks in the long jump (16-10.5).

Winners for the Central boys included Caleb Davis in the 1,600 (5:19.3), the 4×100 relay (44.2), Everette Blake in the 800 (2:23.2), John Rhody in the 200 (23.1), Jesus Gonzalez in the 3,200 (11:01) and Jayden Meadows in the triple jump (41-3).

Individual event winners for the Triton boys included the Hawks B team in the 4×800 relay (9:27), Tyquan Chestnut in the 110 hurdles (17.1), the 4×200 relay (1:38.5), Chestnut in the 300 hurdles (46.7), Christion Green in the high jump (5-6) and Green in the long jump (19-5).
