Village Christian wins middle school volleyball final at CFCA

Village Christian, the third seed in the Southeastern Middle School Conference volleyball tournament, posted a second straight upset with a 2-0 win in the championship game at regular-season champion Cape Fear Christian Academy on Thursday.

The Knights knocked off host O’Neal School of Southern Pines, the regular-season runner-up, in the semifinals on Monday.

CFCA finished an outstanding season with a 21-2 record.

The Eagles will hold their fall sports awards gathering on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the school gym.
