CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Virginia defeated Campbell, 62-41, in women’s basketball on Wednesday night at John Paul Jones Arena.
Camryn Taylor scored 13 points while London Clarkson added 10 for the Cavaliers (6-0).
Gianni Boone led Campbell (3-2) with a game-high 16 points along with six rebounds while Courtney Dahlquist and Svenia Nurenberg each added five points off the bench.
Campbell led 12-10 at the end of the first period and trailed 22-18 at halftime. Virginia extended its lead to eight in the third and used an 11-0 run in the fourth quarter to pull away.
Virginia shot 37.7 percent (23-61) from the field, 30.0 percent (3-10) from three and made 61.9 percent (13-21) of its free throws. The Camels were limited to 31.9 percent (15-47) from the field and just 18.2 percent (4-22) from behind the arc.
The Cavaliers scored 25 points off 25 Campbell turnovers and outscored the Camels, 36-22, in points in the paint.
Campbell plays at Norfolk State on Monday, November 28, at 5:30 p.m.
