Triton football coach Ben Penny has announced that David Weathersby will serve as offensive coordinator for the Hawks.

Weathersby joined the Triton staff after guiding Bunn to an 8-4 record as head coach of the Wildcats in 2017. He had previously been head coach at Bartlett-Yancey. He has worked as an assistant at Broughton, Southeast Raleigh and Western Harnett.

Penny said the Hawks would continue to operate a Wing-T offense.

Andy Karcher, who has been offensive coordinator and offensive line coach for Triton, has accepted a position at Pine Forest.

Brian Strickland will transition from defensive line to offensive line on the Hawks staff. Dominique Smith will move from tight ends to defensive line.

Triton was 6-6 overall last season and 3-2 in the Tri-County Six 3-A Conference.
