A crowd of 11,388 attended the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 8-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays in Tuesday night’s World Series opener, the smallest Series crowd since 10,535 attended Game 6 in 1909 between the Tigers and Pittsburgh at Detroit’s Bennett Park. A 2-run homer by Cody Bellinger in the bottom of the fourth put the Dodgers ahead to stay. … Game two of the Series is scheduled for tonight at 8:08 p.m. (FOX) with Tony Gonsolin slated to start on the mound for LA against Blake Snell. … Erik Jones will drive NASCAR’s iconic No. 43 next season for Richard Petty Motorsports. … Phil Mickelson will team up with Charles Barkley to face Stephen Curry and Peyton Manning in an exhibition golf match on Nov. 27 at Stone Canyon Golf Club in Oro Valley, Arizona.
