Western Harnett’s varsity boys basketball team took a 57-45 Tri-County Six 3-A Conference win over visiting Lee County on Wednesday night.

Darnell Carver had 18 points and 11 rebounds as the Eagles improved to 10-10 overall and 4-5 in league play going into a home game with Tri-County leader Southern Lee on Friday night.

Jamar Butler totaled 13 points and Anthony Brewington scored 11. James Taylor had eight points, Sam Tolbert tallied three, Tobias Dillard had two points and Tre Richardson added one point.

Western had a 22-12 scoring advantage in the third quarter after a tie at 18 at the half.

Lee won the girls game, 48-25.
