Whitney Williams is returning to her alma mater as girls basketball coach.

Williams was a multisport athlete at South before earning an athletic scholarship to Norfolk State.

She has been teaching and coaching at Triton, guiding the junior varsity softball team for the Hawks this spring.

Williams takes over a program that was 2-21 overall and 0-10 in the Greater Neuse 3-A Conference under Latissa Hampton in 2017-18.
