Da’John Williams signed with Greensboro College and Latrell McDougald signed with North Carolina Wesleyan in the media center at Triton on Friday morning.

Both were productive as ball carriers in the Hawks’ Wing-T.

Williams projects as a slot receiver for the Pride. McDougald was recruited as a cornerback by the Bishops.

“I’m proud of both of these guys,” said Triton football coach Ben Penny. “Da’John is one of the best offensive skill guys in our area. He has some intangibles on the field. He’s a smart football player. He knows what it takes to be good.”

McDougald was in on 17 tackles as a senior during a 6-6 season and had two interceptions.

“Just a pure leader,” Penny said of McDougald.

McDougald expressed his appreciation to the Hawks program for helping create the opportunity for him at Wesleyan.

Both players said they will continue to work in the weight room and in terms of conditioning to prepare for their move to the next level.
