Soccer camps directed by coach Derrick Pine start Monday, June 11, at Cape Fear Christian Academy.
The sessions include June 11-15, June 18-22 and June 25-29 from 8 a.m. to noon each day.
The camps are designed for beginner to intermediate boys and girls ages 10 to 14.
CFCA is located at 138 Erwin Chapel Road off U.S. 421 between Buies Creek and Erwin. The camps will be conducted on the CFCA soccer field.
Session One of the daily schedule will include light conditioning, drills, mini-games, set plays, head balls and goalkeeper skills from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
Campers will have a break from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Participants should bring their own snacks and water bottles.
Campers need to bring shin guards, soccer cleats and a soccer ball for the training sessions.
Session Two of the daily schedule will include juggling, dribbling, passing, rules and terminology as well as game strategy.
There will be free play from 11:30 a.m. to noon each day.
Pine coaches the middle school girls and varsity boys teams at CFCA. He also coaches for the Lillington Recreation Department. He organized and coached the Lillington Revolution 14-and-under girls soccer team which competed in the State Games in 2017.
